James Henson of the 200 block of County Road 488 reported at 7:02 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, that his vehicle had been broken into and a .380-caliber pistol had been stolen.

Lavon Kopinski reported at 5:49 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, that a home being remodeled in the 100 block of County Road 579 in Fisk had been broken into. A circular saw and drill set were missing and damage was sustained to a rear window.

Ronnie Berry reported at 12:22 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, that an Isuzu four-cylinder engine had been stolen from a field on his property on Highway BB.

Donald G. Mendenhall. 35, of the 3500 block of Westwood Boulevard was booked Thursday, Sept. 23, at the Butler County jail on suspicion of knowingly burning or exploding.

Branden J. Rice, 36, of Fisk was booked Thursday, Sept. 23, at the Butler County jail on a capias warrant for possession of marijuana.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters responded at 1:07 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, to a call of a stuck elevator at the Three Rivers College library, 2080 Three Rivers Blvd. They found a belt had been frayed.

Firefighters responded to a call at 11:34 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, to a report of smoke in the area of 1111 N. Main St. It was determined a resident of an apartment was cleaning their oven, resulting in the smoke.

Firefighters responded 10:35 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, to a call for assistance at a motor vehicle accident at 1301 Shelby Road. They assisted Butler County EMS with extraction and basic life support.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Gregory Leach, 31, of the 600 block of North Eighth Street was arrested at 4:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, on North D Street on a warrant for child neglect. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

James Z. Sutton, 38, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, on Peach Street on a parole violation warrant. He was booked at the butler County jail.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

A 58-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 10:47 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, on Highway T, four miles north of Poplar Bluff.

According to the report, Lane T. Schumer, 18, of Puxico was operating a northbound 2011 Ford F-150 when it struck the rear of a northbound 2017 Ford Escape operated by Steven D. Mayo, 58, of Poplar Bluff.

Mayo was transported from the scene by Butler County EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Three people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 6:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, on County Road K-1, three miles east of Doniphan.

According to the report, Topanga S. Thompson, 24, of Poplar Bluff was operating a 1999 Chevrolet S-10 southbound when it struck the rear of a southbound 2006 Chevrolet Uplander operated by a 16-year-old female from Doniphan.

The 16-year-old female and another 16-year-old female passenger in the Uplander were transported by Ripley County EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, while Thompson was transported by private conveyance to an area hospital.
