Firefighters responded to an alarm at 6:16 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at 1718 Sylvan Dr. The homeowner advised they were cooking and set off the alarm, and there was no fire.

Firefighters responded to an alarm at 1:23 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the 1709 Minola Street home of Carla Hodge. Hodge advised she was cooking and set off the alarm.

Firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide alarm at 12:03 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at RNR Tire Express, 1880 N. Westwood Blvd. They used a gas meter but found no CO2.

Firefighters responded to a call at 8:13 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Poplar Bluff High School, 3209 Oak Grove Road. A passerby thought they saw smoke, but it turned out to be steam from school staff cleaning at the stadium.

Firefighters responded to an alarm at 3:44 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at 1821 Marshall Street. Upon arrival, they found the home fully involved in fire and began attacking it from the outside. They used 2,500 gallons of water to put the fire out. Fencing on the west side of Eugene field Elementary suffered heat damage in the fire.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Timothy Jarrell, 38, of Dexter was arrested at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, on Highway T on a probation violation warrant and Butler County warrants for burglary and stealing. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Marshall Jones, 38, of Doniphan was arrested at 9:18 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, during a traffic stop in the 1600 block of South Broadway on a parole violation warrant. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Jeremy Fishbeck, 38, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:37 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, on West Pine Street on suspicion of possession of amphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, driving while revoked, multiple traffic violations and a parole violation warrant. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Serena Barnes, 50, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 1:51 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at the intersection of South Broadway and Ashcroft Road on failure to appear warrants for no insurance, possession of a controlled substance and driving while suspended, and on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT

Julie A. Emery, 48, of Doniphan was booked Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Butler County jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon, and on a capias warrant for tampering with a motor vehicle.

Kyle W. Wright, 18, of Broseley was booked Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Butler County jail on suspicion of tampering with a motor vehicle.

Anthony S. Pedigo, 31, of Neelyville was booked Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Butler County jail on a probation violation warrant.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Christopher R. Williams, 31, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2:12 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, in Dunklin County on suspicion of excessive blood alcohol content in a commercial motor vehicle and possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana. He was released.

Two people sustained minor injuries in a three-vehicle accident at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, on U.S. Highway 160, one mile east of Fairdealing.

According to the report, Justin J. Lewis, 26, of Gatewood was operating a 2020 Dodge Challenger eastbound when it struck the rear of an eastbound 2020 Jeep Latitude operated by Leigh A. Hancock, 53, of Poplar Bluff. Hancock’s vehicle then struck the rear of an eastbound 2011 Dodge Ram operated by Jerry L. Hill, 58, of Fairdealing.

Hancock and a passenger in her vehicle, Elizabeth C. Hancock, age unknown, were transported by EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Johnathan T. Hopkins, 21, of Bloomfield was arrested at 10:03 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, in Stoddard County on suspicion of DWI, possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid driver’s license and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a traffic crash. He was released.

A 33-year-old man sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 12:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, on Eagle Sky Drive in Wayne County.

According to the report, Kyle R. Whitacker, 33, of Piedmont was operating a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle northbound when it ran off the roadway and overturned.

Whitacker was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
