City firefighters responded at 1:36 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, to a report of a strange odor at Integrity Regional Pain Center, located at 2865 James St. According to the report, firefighters arrived at the location and did smell a strange order. Spire Energy was notified. Upon further investigation, firefighters were able to identify the odor coming from an electrical outlet that had a power strip plugged into it and another power strip plugged into the first one with heat damage and an odor coming from the outlet. Crews turned off the breaker and notified the business that they should consult with an electrician before turning the breaker back on.

City firefighters responded at 2:02 a.m. Thursday, April 22, to a report of an alarm at 2450 South 11th Street. According to the report, firefighters arrived at the location with nothing showing. A representative from the business, declined to come to the location and told firefighters to open the “Knox Box” outside the building to gain access and explained that someone should be working inside at the time firefighters arrived. No fire, running water or employee could be found in the building and upon further investigation firefighters discovered a keypad showing a trouble alarm. Firefighters secured the building and cleared the scene.

obert David Gurney, 50, of the 800 block of Wayne was arrested Thursday, April 22, at 1441 Black River Industrial Park. According to the report, Gurney was arrested for a parole violation and was transported to the Butler County jail.
eggie Lee Loyd, 33, of Neelyville was booked at the Butler County jail Wednesday, April 21, on a failure to appear warrant for stealing.
