Charles L. Howell, 46, of Tomaro Trail, was arrested at 11:18 a.m. Monday, April 19, at the intersection of Broadway and Ashcroft Road on a warrant for stealing a motor vehicle and a failure to appear warrant for possession of a controlled substance. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Dylan S. Blankenship, 28, of the 1400 block of Black River Industrial Park Road was arrested at 11:34 p.m. Monday, April 19, at his residence on a warrant for a parole violation. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

City firefighters responded at 9:39 p.m. Monday, April 19, to a report of an unauthorized burn at 515 North Sixth Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found a couch and a pile of leaves and limbs on fire and used 50 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.

City firefighters responded at 8:53 a.m. Monday, April 19, to assist an EMS crew with lifting a patient into a chair at 2023 Arkansas Street.

Tyler Phillips, 27, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 11, on suspicion of second-degree assault. He was transported to the Butler County jail.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

A 19-year-old woman suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 10:35 p.m. Monday, April 19, on Highway N, two miles south of Oglesville.

According to the report, Allison J. Baggett, 19, of Qulin was operating a 2016 Nissan Versa southbound on Highway N when she ran off the road and struck a ditch.

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 8:25 a.m. Monday, April 19, at the intersection of Highway B and Highway AA, three miles east of Poplar Bluff.

According to the report, Gwendolyn M. Stokes, 26, of Poplar Bluff was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer eastbound on Highway B when she failed to yield to -- and traveled into the path of -- a westbound 1998 Dodge van operated by Lena S. Gann, 64, of Poplar Bluff.

Stokes suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Survival Flight to Elvis Presley Regional One in Memphis, Tennessee. A seven-year-old male juvenile in Stokes’s vehicle also suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Survival Flight to Lebonhur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Lena Gann suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Donald E. Gann, 64, who was a passenger in Lena Gann’s vehicle, suffered serious injuries and was transported by Air Evac to Elvis Presley Regional One in Memphis, Tennessee.
