Christina G. Whitt, 42, of the 1700 block of Spring Street was arrested at 1 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, at her residence warrants for possession of amphetamine and possession of a controlled substance. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

Towns, 40, of Tumbleweed Drive was arrested at 10:46 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, on Harper Street on suspicion of resisting arrest, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, driving while revoked, failure to register a motor vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to obey a traffic control device and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Jesse D. Helm, 41, of Greenville was arrested at 9:44 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of amphetamine and unlawful possession of a firearm. He was booked at the Butler County jail.
POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to a call at 12:56 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, of smoke in the area of the 2700 block of South Westwood Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found a controlled burn at the end of Market Street.

Firefighters responded at 5:26 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, to a call of smoke in the area at 147 Hampton Court. Upon arrival, they found a leaf fire in that residence’s back yard. Since the owner did not have a water hose, firefighters used a booster line and 50 gallons of water to put the fire out.

Firefighters responded at 5 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, to a call of a structure fire at the 1818 Fair St. home occupied by Tabitha Wilson and owned by Keith Willcut. They made entry and found a small fire in the kitchen area. They used 450 gallons of water to put the fire out and used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots. They also notified Municipal Utilities and Spire Gas of the fire.

Firefighters responded to a direct call at 1:14 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, advising them of a truck fire on South Eighth Street. They found a truck had overheated and caught fire, and the driver had put the fire out himself.
BUTLER COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT
County firefighters responded at 2:16 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, to a motor vehicle accident at Highway 67 South and County Road 323. They used tools to remove a driver’s side door from a vehicle.

County firefighters responded at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, to 3797 Highway M, where a structure fire was reported. The fire damaged the front porch area of the home, which is owned by Albert Faughn and occupied by James McIrvin.

County firefighters responded at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, to the 300 block of County Road 468, where a pile of clothes was burning in the roadway.

County firefighters responded at 12:34 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, to 10482 Highway 60 West, where a burning smell was reported. Nothing was found. The owner of the home is Tim Carter and the occupant is Travis Hutchison.
