Firefighters responded at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, to smoke in the area of the 600 block of Cynthia St. It was an authorized controlled burn with a man burning leaves. No action was taken and they left the scene at 12:51 p.m.

Butler County Fire Department

County firefighters responded at 9:02 p.m. Friday, April 29, to a structure fire at 201 Fifth St. in Fisk. The vacant house was destroyed.

County firefighters responded to 831 County Road 605 at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, to a small fire on a stovetop. It had been extinguished when they arrived.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

William A. Campbell, 35, of the 200 block of Hampton Court was arrested on a St. Francois County warrant at 8:07 a.m. Tuesday, April 3 at Henry and Karen streets. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Michael D. Hart Jr., 21, of the 400 block of Karen Drive was arrested Wednesday, May 4, on three warrants including a failure to appear warrant for first degree trespassing, second degree assault and a failure to appear warrant for possession of marijuana. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Three Wappappello residents were arrested about 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, following a traffic stop near the intersection of Maud and 16th streets.

Heather N. Harris, 38, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, was issued a warning for driving left of center and a citation for financial responsibility required.

Anthony K. Garcia, 44, was arrested on a Wayne County warrant for failure to appear for possession of a controlled substance.

Amy L. Gibbear, 44, was arrested on a Jefferson County warrant for driving while revoked.

Garcia and Gibbear were both issued citations for no seat belt.

Harris, Garcia and Gibbear were booked at the Butler County jail.
