POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, to a reported structure fire at 631 S. Eighth St. Upon arrival, they found fire coming out a front window. They attacked the fire from multiple sides and used 800 gallons of water to put it out. Firefighters also used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots and set up a positive pressure ventilation fan before contacting the state fire marshal’s office.

Firefighters responded at 12:08 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, to the 1502 Thomas St. home occupied by Dorsettsa Horne. A gas line had broken, and firefighters turned off the gas at the meter, set up ventilation and contacted Spire Gas.

County firefighters responded at 7:06 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, to a reported grass fire off Highway 67 North. The fire was out upon their arrival.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL
A 79-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 11:35 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, on U.S. Highway 160, eight miles east of Doniphan.
According to the report, Laura M. Jackson, 79, of Doniphan was operating a 2003 Lincoln Town Car eastbound when it ran off the right edge of the highway, overcorrected and overturned off the right side of the highway.
Jackson was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Franklin C. Lee, 24, of Bernie was arrested at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, in Stoddard County on suspicion of felony DWI and felony driving while revoked. He was booked at the Stoddard County jail on a 24-hour hold.

A 65-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 1:53 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, on U.S. Highway 62, three miles west of Campbell.
According to the report, Melissa F. Johnson, 36, of Clarkton was operating a 2018 GMC Acadia eastbound when it crossed the center of the highway and struck a westbound 2008 Dodge Ram operated by James G. Johnson, 73, of Piggott, Arkansas.
A passenger in Johnson’s truck, Teressa D. Johnson, 65, of Piggott, Arkanas, was transported by ambulance to Piggott Community Hospital.

Richard Dorey, 80, of Piedmont was arrested at 8:50 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, in Wayne County on a felony probation violation warrant. He was booked at the Wayne County jail.
