Firefighters responded at 9:34 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, to a two-vehicle accident at Nooney and Valley streets. They checked all involved and provided first aid until EMS crews arrived. They also assisted EMS with packaging and loading a patient.

Firefighters responded at 8:23 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, to a call from the manager at Aldi requesting help with an alarm system. It was investigation only.

Firefighters were dispatched at 5:53 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, to 109 S. Westwood Blvd., where a propane leak was reported. It was determined to be a gasoline supply truck refueling a tank down the street.

Firefighters came upon an accident at 11:53 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, while traveling on Maud Street. They provided traffic control and called city police to the scene.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Chris J. Smith, 26, of the 200 block of Manchester Road was arrested at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the Probation and Parole Office on a probation violation warrant for possession of marijuana. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Todd C. Nidiffer, 47, of the 1200 block of Bradley was arrested at 10:29 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the intersection of Valley and Nooney streets on suspicion of second-degree assault. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

David L. Allen, 32, of the 5000 block of Nellie Sue Circle was booked Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the Butler County jail on failure to appear warrants for operating a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility and second-degree property damage.

BUTLER COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT

County firefighters responded at 8:31 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, to a reported structure fire at No. 1 Dogwood Lane. Upon their arrival, the vacant home owned by Joseph Bowen III was fully involved and totaled.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Stanley E. Vest, 48, of Ellsinore was arrested at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, in Butler County on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine, felony unlawful possession of an illegal weapon, possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance and failure to register a motor vehicle. He was booked at the Butler County jail on a 24-hour hold.

Kenneth C. Lamb, 37, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:08 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, in Butler County on a Butler County felony warrant for second-degree domestic assault and on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the Butler County jail.
