POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT
Frefighters were dispatched to an alarm at 2:03 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, to 3001 Warrior Lane. According to the report, the alarm sounded due to burned popcorn in a microvave. Manager reset alarm.

Firefighters responded to an alarm at 6:08 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at 1524 N 5th St. in reference to smoke in residence. According to the report, firefighters found no fire but wire casings in a furnace unit were melted. Homeowner advised to seek repairs on the unit.

Firefighters were dispatched at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, to 1529 N Main St. in reference to a motor vehicle fire. According to the report, the fire was out when firefighters arrived on scene. No injuries were reported.
MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL
A 31-year-old man was killed and another sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 8:55 a.m. Monday, April 18, on Interstate 155, one mile south of Caruthersville.
According to the report, Derek Waddell, 31, of Paragould, Arkansas was operating a 2015 Nissan Sentra northbound when it crossed the median and struck a southbound 2013 Chevrolet Equinox operated by Courtney E. Lemons, 30, of Atoka, Tennessee head-on.
Waddell was pronounced dead at 11:09 a.m. Monday at West Tennessee Healthcare in Dyersburg, Tennessee and was transported to the Dyer County, Tennessee morgue. He is the 19th fatality in Troop E this year.
Lemons was transported by ambulance to West Tennessee Healthcare with minor injuries.

A 67-year-old man sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 4:55 p.m. Monday, April 18, on Highway 142, one mile west of Naylor.
According to the report, Ronnie D. Turner, 67, of Fairdealing was operating a 2007 Chevrolet 1500 pickup westbound when it traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
Turner was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at the intersection of Highway M and Butler County Road 459.
According to the report, Josie A. Logan, 21, of Conway, Arkansas was operating a 2006 Mercedes E350 southbound when it pulled into the path of a westbound 2016 Nissan Rogue operated by Michelle A. Goff, 55, of Poplar Bluff.
Goff sustained moderate injuries, while a female infant less than one year old in Logan’s vehicle sustained minor injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Clay Westmoreland, 36, of Piedmont was arrested at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, in Wayne County on an Iron County misdemeanor failure to appear warrant for speeding. He was booked at the Wayne County jail.
