POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

City officers were dispatched Wedneday, April 13, to a residence in the 300 block of Bartlett St. in reference to theft. According to the report, the resident stated she arrived at the residence around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 12. When leaving the residence around 9:27 a.m. Wedneday, April 13, she noticed the center console of the vehicle was open and a firearm was missing. No suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters were dispatched at 2:17 p.m. Wedneday, April 13, to 2218 Fair St. in reference to a motor vehicle in a ditch. According to the report, no injuries were reported.

Firefighters were dispatched at 5 p.m. Wedneday, April 13, to the 400 block of Arthur St. in reference to smoke in the area. According to the report, firefighters found an extinguished trash fire caused the smoke.

Firefighters were dispatched at 8:09 p.m. Wedneday, April 13, to an alarm at 1303 Spring St. According to the report, the alarm was found to be false.

Firefighters were dispatched at 8:21 p.m. Wedneday, April 13, to an alarm at 921 W. Harper St. According to the report, the alarm was found to be set off by burned popcorn in a microwave.

Firefighters were dispatched at 6:45 p.m. Wedneday, April 13, to 797 Taft St. in reference to smoke in the area of Cole and Relief streets. According to the report, firefighters found an unauthorized burn and notified the occupant of the city burn codes and extinguished the fire.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Two people sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 1:08 a.m. Thursday, April 14, at the intersection of Highway 106 and Main Street in Ellington.

According to the report, Jeffry L. Nash, 45, of Ellington was operating a 2001 Mazda Tribute northbound when it failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a westbound 2005 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Jonathon D. Stout, 33, of Ellington.

Stout was taken by private vehicle to Iron County Medical Center in Pilot Knob, while Nash was transported by ambulance to the same hospital.
