Phillip Paul Lawrence, 44, of the 900 block of Delano was arrested at 10:21 a.m. Monday, May 24, in the 400 block of Second Street on a Butler County warrant for felony dangerous drugs. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Timothy Earl Lipsey, 39, of the 1100 block of North 11th street was arrested Monday, May 24, in the 700 block of North 11th Street on a warrant for felony receiving of stolen property. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Damon Ray Crowley of the 3600 block of Highway B was arrested Monday, May 24, on suspicion of driving while revoked/suspended and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage exceeding $1,000. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Scott Eugene Swift, 63, of Doniphan was arrested Monday, May 24, by Ripley County Sheriff Mike Barton on suspicion of operating a vehicle on the highway without a valid license and suspicion of possession of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid of 10 grams of less. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Randy Lee Swigert, 43, of Ellsinore was arrested Monday, May 24, in Carter County on suspicion of possession of controlled substance. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Tabitha Nicole Walters, 32, of the 2200 block of Mangold was arrested Monday, May 24, on a capias warrant for possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid. She was booked into the Butler County jail.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Edward E. Chevalier, 60, of Doniphan was arrested Monday, May 24, of suspicion of DWI and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was held in Ripley County.

Kevin D. Irby, 36, of Poplar Bluff was arrested Tuesday, May 25, on a felony warrant for failure to register as a sex offender and a Cape Girardeau warrant for probation violation for trespassing. He was held at the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Poplar Bluff firefighters at 10:26 a.m. Friday, May 21, responded to the city landfill for a grass fire. They found the fire was in a crop field with last season’s stubble burning. The fire was in Butler County, so they assisted county firefighters and used 20 gallons of water.

Firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 11: 54 a.m. Friday, May 21, at 1210 N. Westwood Blvd. They stayed on the scene to assist Poplar Bluff Police Department and the wrecker service.

Firefighters responded at 11:34 a.m. Friday, May 21, to an alarm sounding at the Poplar Bluff High School on Oak Grove Road. They were called en route and informed a student pulled the alarm. They met with principal Mike Owen and advising him to have the alarm company reset the alarm.

Firefighters responded at 12:08 p.m. Friday, May 21, to a motor vehicle accident with alleged injuries in the 1200 block of North Westwood Blvd. The minor accident had the mirrors on the drivers’ side windows bumping.

Firefighters responded to 1401 Highway 53 at 3.20 p.m. Friday, May 21, where a vehicle fire was threatening a structure. The fire was burning inside the passenger compartment. The owner and employees used several fire extinguishers to slow the spreading fire. The department used approximately 350 gallons of water to put the fire out. The employees used a forklift to remove the vehicle from the shop.

Firefighters responded at 3:48 p.m. Friday, May 21, to the skate plaza on Poplar Street for medical assist until Butler County EMS and a skater’s parents arrived.

Firefighters responded to 942 Spring St. at 8:06 p.m., May 22, to residents burning wood in the street. They used 10 gallons from a booster line to put out the fire. They informed everyone of the city’s burn ordinance.

Firefighters responded to 1502 Bethel St. at 1:38 a.m. Sunday, May 23, to an unauthorized burn in the backyard of a vacant house. They used 10 gallons of water to put out the fire.

Firefighters responded to 809 S. Ninth St. at 12:14 a.m. Monday, May 24, for a service call for a hazard removal and asked the Poplar Bluff Police Department for assistance. They used 10 gallons of water to wash down the roadway, where a gallon of paint was spilled.
