Poplar Bluff firefighters responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident at 12:08 p.m. Friday, March 1, at 839 W. Pine Blvd.

According to Battalion Chief Jeff Hale’s report, crews from two stations responded. When the crew from Station 1 arrived, everyone was out the vehicle and there were no injuries. Firefighters from station three were canceled. The first group stayed until the roadway was clear.

Firefighters responded at 1:41 a.m. Friday, March 1, to an unauthorized burning at 1806 Wilson St. The caller stated they could see flames.

According to Jonathan Miller’s report, the crew found the fire was an unauthorized burn in a vacant lot next door. He canceled the second crew. The fire team used a booster reel and 50 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. They advised the person on the scene of the city burning ordinances.

Firefighters responded at 2:53 p.m. Saturday, March 2, to H&R Block, 912 Highway 53, to a possible structure fire.

According to the report by Captain Steve Burkhead, the first station to arrive found a smoker behind the building. All units were advised to disregard.

Firefighters responded at 12:09 p.m. Sunday, March 3, to an alarm at Southeast Missouri Residential Services, 2507 Sunset Terrace.

According to Captain Tobby Tuggle’s report, the staff stated a resident pulled the alarm and ran off. Five firefighters responded, but cleared the scene once they knew there was no fire.

Firefighters responded at 2:16 p.m. Sunday, March 3, to assist Butler County EMS at 1010 Grand Ave.

According to Captain Chad Bell’s report, they assisted with the patient and cleared the scene.

Firefighters responded at 3:04 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, to an alarm at Southeast Missouri Residential Services, 2511 Sunset Terrace.

According to Brad Jones’s report, dispatch informed them there was no fire before they left the station. The crew responded non-emergency and no fire was showing on arrival. The duty employee at the facility informed the crew the pull station had been activated.

Firefighters responded at 2:24 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, to an alarm at Colton’s Steak House & Grill, 2114 N Westwood Blvd.

According to Brad Jones’s report, two stations responded. No fire or smoke was showing upon arrival. They made contact with the construction crews on site and confirmed there was no fire. One station was canceled while en route. The alarm was unintentionally set off due to construction dust.

Firefighters responded to a cooking fire at 2311 Covington Meadows at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday, March 6.

According to Captain Chad Bell’s report, while en route the crew learned it was food in the microwave. Two crews were canceled. Fire personnel made contact with the occupant and investigated the microwave. There was no damage to the microwave. Smoke had set off the smoke detector.

Firefighters responded at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 to 1124 N. Main St., to assist Butler County EMS lifting a patient into the ambulance.

According to Captain Chad Bell’s report, the patient was ready to place in the ambulance.
