Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 1:02 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, to 2049 Greenwood Drive to assist emergency medical services with a patient having difficulty breathing, The firefighters opened the door where the patient was waiting. They assisted EMS in loading the patient before clearing the scene.

Butler County firefighters responded at 1:23 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, to a structure fire at 20975 Highway 67 South in Neelyville. The building, an abandoned store, was a total loss. The firefighters were notified by a motorist who was driving in the area, according to reports.
