City firefighters responded at 1:03 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, to a report of a vehicle on fire at 818 Kendall Ave.

Upon arrival, firefighters found 2004 Ford Mustang mostly burned, but used a thermal imaging camera and 100 gallons of water to put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 7:57 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, to a report of a toaster fire at the 838 Bearden St. home owned by Mel Jackson and occupied by Kourtney Darham.

Upon their arrival, firefighters found a toaster on fire in the kitchen and after turning off the breaker to the toaster, they used water from the sink to extinguish it.

A positive-pressure fan was used to clear smoke from the home and a thermal imaging camera was used to check for additional hot spots.

City firefighters responded at 7:34 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, to a report of smoke in the area of Fair Street and Rowe Parkway.

It was investigation only and was determined to be farm fields burning in the county.

Hydrobreak and 35 gallons of water were used to clean fluids from the roadway.
