City firefighters responded at 8:27 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, to a report of a structure fire at the intersect on of Valley and Fifth Street. It was investigation only.

City firefighters responded at 6:31 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, to a report of an unauthorized burn at the intersection of Wilson and Arthur streets.
According to the report, firefighters found an unauthorized burn at the 1500 Woodrow St. residence owned by Richard Schraps. Firefighters used five gallons of water to put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 1:58 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, to a possible structure fire at the 906 Taft St. residence occupied by Robert Mosbey and owned by Jerry Keirsey.
According to the report, firefighters found smoke showing upon their arrival.
Upon entering the home, firefighters found a fire inside an oven, which had appeared to have burned itself out.
The fire was contained to the oven, and a positive-pressure-ventilation fan was set up to remove smoke from the residence.
The occupants told firefighters the stove had been malfunctioning, and they had put some food inside the oven, but they had turned it off.
Firefighters unplugged the appliance and told the occupants to have their landlord service or replace it.
