City firefighters responded at 9:19 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, to a report of an unauthorized burn at the intersection of Fifth and Valley streets.
According to the report, firefighters found an unattended fire burning in the ditch in front of 1023 N. Fifth St. and used 10 gallons of water to put it out.

City firefighters responded at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, to a report of a mobile home on fire at 265 County Road 5231.
According to the report, firefighters were told en route that the fire was in the county, and the Butler County Fire Department was notified.
Firefighters used 700 gallons of water to knock down the fire, which was turned over the county firefighters upon their arrival.

According to the report, the mobile home, owned by Scott Hallum, was destroyed.

City firefighters responded at 12:31 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, to a report of a carbon monoxide detector sounding at the 318 E. Henry St. residence owned by Kristy Niblock. It was investigation only.
According to the report, firefighters checked the residence and found the home did not have any gas appliances. The detector was found to be malfunctioning and past its expiration date. Firefighters told Niblock to it needed to be replaced.

City firefighters responded at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, to a motor-vehicle crash in front of the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, 1500 N. Westwood Blvd.
According to the report, firefighters provided traffic control and used Hydrobreak and an absorbent to remove fluids from the road.

City firefighters responded at 9:36 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, to a report of trash burning in a barrel near the intersection of Fifth and Kinzer streets.
According to the report, firefighters found a trash fire in a barrel in front of the 506 Kinzer St. residence owned by Stacy Stewart.
Firefighters reportedly told Stewart about the city’s burn and trash ordinances and used 10 gallons of water to put out the fire.
