City firefighters responded at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday to a motor-vehicle crash at 2255 S. 11th St. According to the report, firefighters checked on the vehicle’s driver and asked him to let medical personnel do the same; however, he refused care. City firefighters responded at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday to a motor-vehicle crash at 2255 S. 11th St.

According to the report, firefighters checked on the vehicle’s driver and asked him to let medical personnel do the same; however, he refused care.

Firefighters remained on the scene until the vehicle was removed by tow company personnel.

City firefighters responded at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a flue fire at the 1736 Zehm Ave. residence owned by Stan Berry.

According to the report, firefighters found light smoke coming from the flue upon their arrival.

Berry, who was outside, reported there was no fire inside his home, and he had shut the flue’s damper.

Firefighters access the chimney and found there still was some fire inside. A chimney bag reportedly was used to extinguish the remaining fire.

Berry was told he could reopen the damper.

Firefighters reportedly allowed debris to clear before replacing the chimney cap.

City firefighters responded at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday to request to install a smoke detector at 1702 Whispering Oaks Place.

According to the report, firefighters installed the smoke detector the homeowner had purchased, as well as installed one on the opposite end of the home.
