According to the report, firefighters checked for injuries and stood by until the vehicle was removed.

City firefighters responded at 8:51 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, to a report of a strange odor at the 1936 S. Broadway apartment occupied by Brandy Bettencourt and owned by Collins Brothers LLC.
According to the report, firefighters found a woman who was visibly sick and reporting shortness of breath upon their arrival. Other occupants reported the odor was coming from the front of the building below them.
Firefighters reportedly noticed a strong odor of what was believed to be gasoline coming from around a garage door.
Contact was made with the building’s owner and maintenance personnel responded.
Upon entering the lower level of the apartment complex, firefighters found the odor had dissipated by that time.
