City firefighters responded at 7:24 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, to a reported leaf fire at the 2265 Autumn Road residence occupied by Chuck Henson.
According to the report, firefighters told Henson about the city’s burn ordinance against burning after dark and used five gallons of water to put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 4:58 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, to a report of a grass fire at the Poplar Bluff city landfill on County Road 604.
According to the report, two men driving by had stopped and put out the grass fire. Firefighters found there was a brush pile on fire, and an ember from that probably blew out and ignited the grass.

City firefighters responded at 4:11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, to a motor-vehicle crash at the intersection of 13th Street and Forest Lane.
According to the report, firefighters stood by until the vehicles were removed.

City firefighters responded at 1:56 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, to a fire at the 1404 Meadowbrook home owned by Clarissa Bess.
According to the report, Bess had been burning leaves earlier in the day. She reportedly went inside for a while and looked out to find her yard on fire.
Bess reportedly put out the fire prior to the arrival of the fire department.
