City firefighters responded at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, to an alarm at J.C. Penney Co. Inc., 515 S. Westwood Blvd. It was investigation only.

City firefighters responded at 1:14 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, to an unauthorized burn at 410 Magnolia.
According to the report, firefighters contacted subjects beside the house, who reported they were burning in a barrel behind the residence. The contents of the barrel reportedly was wiring.
Firefighters used 30 gallons of water to put out the fire and told the subjects about the city’s burn ordinance.

County firefighters responded at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, to a vehicle fire following a motor-vehicle crash on Highway V.
According to the report, the Ford Ranger, owned by George Moore and occupied by Riley Armes, was destroyed.
