City firefighters provided medical assistance at 8:23 p.m. Sunday, April 19, when a woman came into station No. 3 on Highway 53 to report her son had been burned and was in the parking lot next to the station.
According to the report, firefighters found a man standing beside a vehicle with his hands in the air. The man, who was alert, had burns on his upper torso and neck and his facial and chest hair, as well as the hair on his head, was singed.
The man reportedly complained of pain from his burns, and was given a secondary evaluation by a register nurse who was passing by.
Emergency-medical-services personnel arrived and the man was taken to a hospital for treatment.

According to the report, firefighters founds an unauthorized burn behind the 2007 Hillsdale Road residence occupied by Julian Pearson. Firefighters told Pearson about the city’s burn ordinance, and he put out the fire.
