According to the report, firefighters found the grass fire started from a large brush pile, which had been set on fire to clean out stumps from a nearby creek.
Firefighters used 100 gallons of water to put out the fire.
As firefighters were leaving, they made contact with Park and Recreation employees, who reported they had lit the fire, left to retrieve a chain saw and the fire had got away while they were gone.
