The police department received a report Thursday, Sept. 15, that a juvenile was assaulted by other students and the student’s cell phone was stolen on the parking lot at Poplar Bluff High School during a football game Sept. 2.

Ryan Helsel, 35, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 7:52 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, on North 10th Street at Hickory after he was allegedly seen stealing a package from the front porch of a residence in the 1300 block of Susan Place. Helsel was arrested on charges of suspicion of stealing and resisting arrest; a Stoddard County warrant for forgery; and a Jefferson County warrant for non support. He was booked in the Butler County jail.

Reece Jordan, 20, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, during a traffic stop on Highway 53 on a Butler County warrant for assault. He was booked in the Butler County jail.

Curry Brawley, 33, and Tanya Harris, 30, both of Poplar Bluff were arrested at 11:08 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at their residence in the 300 block of Division Street. Brawley was arrested on a Carter County warrant for dangerous drugs and a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on a charge of resisting arrest. Harris was arrested on a charge of hindering prosecution (felony). Both were booked into the Butler County jail.

A black male was detained at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, after he allegedly stole a bottle of liquor at 10Box at 1301 Shelby Road. The liquor was returned to the store, and management refused to pursue criminal charges.

Brenda Lyons, 40, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, in the 900 block of Benton Street on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on stealing. Lyons was unable to post bond and she was released on her own recognizance.

Jeremy Trout, 30, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:31 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, during a traffic stop on Westwood Boulevard on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense. Trout was unable to post bond and he was released on his own recognizance.

Roland Paisley, 40, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:32 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, during a traffic stop on West Vine Street on Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for stealing and property damage. Paisley was not able to post bond and he was released on his own recognizance.

David Burgess, 50, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:48 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at his residence in the 700 block of North Riverview on suspicion of domestic assault second degree. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

David Sherrion, 55, of Poplar Bluff was booked at 12:52 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, in at the police department on Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for failure to appear on traffic offenses. Sherrion was unable to post bond and he was released on his own recognizance.

Brandy Townsend, 28, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2:53 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, during a traffic stop on Fifth and Oak streets on a Butler County warrant for possession of amphetamine. She was booked into the Butler County jail.
