Robert “RJ” Boyers, 93, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

RJ was born Aug. 13, 1931, to Ira and Clelah (Loge) Boyers in Hvam, Missouri. He married Donna (Casinger) Boyers July 29, 1967, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

RJ was a member of the United States Army and served as a paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne Division. During his time in the service, he marched in the inaugural parade for President Eisenhower in 1953. RJ was a hard worker, holding many positions throughout his life; he was a boilermaker, auctioneer, and cattle farmer. He enjoyed front porch sitting and watching over his cows. He loved all holidays and family gatherings. His greatest joy in life was his family and friends.

RJ is survived by his wife, Donna Boyers; son, Eric (Susan) Boyers; two daughters, Cynthia G. Boyers Wellham and Cheryl (T.R.) Tibbs; four grandchildren, Shane (Mischelle) Tibbs, Mandy (Dustin) Livingston, Seth (Molly) Tibbs, and Cody (Emily) Boyers; eight great-grandchildren, Tabatha, Terra, Michara, Shawn-Paul, Colton, Odin, Addison, and Alaina; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

RJ was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Johnny, Auburn, and Kelly Boyers; four sisters, Kate Hamilton, Georgia “Jo” Casinger, Alice Ellis, and Faye Sisk; grandson, Shawn Tibbs.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at noon with Rev, Keith Luke officiating. Burial will take place at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
