Ruth Hampton
Ruth Jeanette Hampton, 93, of Malden, Missouri, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, in St. Peters, Missouri surrounded by her loving family.
Ruth was born May 2, 1931, to Joseph Eichelberger and Rubye (Fowler) Eichelberger. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of First Southern Baptist of Malden.
She owned Joe’s Motor Service from 1974 – 1983 in Poplar Bluff. She enjoyed horseback riding, and helping with her husband’s auction service. Ruth especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Ruth is survived by one son, Charles (Ava) Whiteley of O’Fallon, Missouri; one daughter, JoLynn Schieferle of Naples, Florida; four grandchildren, David (Isabelinda) Schieferle, Lisa (John) Barfield, Jani (David) Albright, and Charles Whiteley, III; nine great-grandchildren, Creve, Logan, Milena, Luke, Hannah, Sean, Alana, Amaya, and Matthew.
Ruth was proceeded in death by her parents: Joseph and Rubye Eichelberger; her husbands, Charles (Gabby) Whiteley, Sr., and Floyd (Sode) Hampton; and one sister, Shirley Clark. A host of family and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024 at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel at 366 College St., Poplar Bluff. Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024 at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel with Pastor Aulden LeBlanc of Malden officiating the service. Interment will follow funeral service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery of Poplar Bluff.
