Larry Riggins

Isaiah 43:2 ESV When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.


Larry Gene Riggins, 75, of Puxico, Missouri, the son of the late Travis Jack Riggins and Rosa Mae Isaac Riggins of Dudley Missouri, was born out of love June 23, 1949, into a large family that one could only dream of. Larry passed from this life Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Larry was blessed with a large family of six sisters and five brothers that lived on the family farm in Dudley, Missouri.

If you knew Larry, you knew his love for fishing the St. Francis River and how much he looked forward to deer season each year! His family and friends were his purpose in life, and he meant every word when he said to work hard and play harder! Larry was a skilled carpenter building his own home to include electrician, mechanic, siding/trim finisher and was always meticulous in all of his work taking pride in what he did! Jack of all trades master of none to say the least!

Larry was preceded in death by his five brothers, Herman, Ed, James Issac (Curley), Howard, and John Wayne Riggins, as well as four sisters, Betty Jean Barker, Lorene Abernathy, Mary Alice Hays, and Joy Marie Hampton.

Larry is survived by the love of his life, Donna Ann Lynch Riggins of Puxico; daughter, Hollie Michelle Riggins, and sons Larry Joshua Riggins and Dillin Lynch Riggins of Puxico; stepchildren, Lisa Elizabeth McCollum, Louesa Cona McCollum and Jason Lance McCollum; two sisters, Sarah Jane Aarant and Helen Sue Ann Walker of Dexter, Missouri; three grandsons Frank Holland, III, Dalton John Andrews, Wyatt Gene Kelly; one granddaughter Jessie Michelle Kelly, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, at Duck Creek Baptist Church, 22378 County Road 283. Puxico, Missouri, with Rev. Roger Fowler officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Ash Hill Cemetery in Fisk, Missouri with full military honors.

McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
