Michael Ellebracht
Michael A. Ellebracht, 70, of Bernie, Missouri passed away Nov. 15, 2024, at Winchester Nursing Home in Bernie.
Michael was born Jan. 15, 1954, to George and Wilma (Ledford) Ellebracht in St. Louis, Missouri.
Michael moved from St. Louis to the Puxico, Duck Creek area, he went to high school at Zelma High where he played basketball. He enjoyed going to shooting matches with his two buddies, where he ended up winning freezers full of meat, that he shared with others. He helped his church family out by cutting wood with Dave Knapp. He liked to play rummy; he fished in several fishing tournaments. He was a funny man with a smile as big as his face. He also loved to go on nature walks at Mingo Wildlife Reserve and walk the boardwalk and look at all the animals. He loved watching the Cardinals play on T.V. He loved to talk about how God had saved him from his past and how God has changed his life.
Michael is survived by daughter, Andrea Kay Garner (Matthew); sister, Pat Taylor; brother, Robert Ellebracht; and three nieces, Angela Peterick (Russell), Teresa Ellebracht, Wanda Ellebracht, along with special friends, David and Brenda Knapp and Patsy Hodge.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma (Ledford) Ellebracht; father, George Ellebracht; two sisters, Kathy and Carol Ellebracht, and special friends, Mike Harty, and Dann “Bird” Hodge.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at Temple Baptist Church, 1813 Barron Road in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Services will follow at noon with Pastor Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
