Charles Thilman

Charles Ronald Thilman, 77, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, at his home.

Charles was born May 18, 1947, to Charles and Ruth (Wonderlich) Thilman in Poplar Bluff.

Charles was a proud member of the United States Army. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a well-liked person, who had many friends. Charles was an active member of the Eagles Club, Jaycees of Poplar Bluff, and the Poplar Bluff Rod & Custom Car Club in his younger years. He enjoyed socializing and spending time with friends and family and going on outings at the lake. Charles grew up working closely with his parents at their family business, Thilman Electric. Charles was proud of the business his father started and did everything in his power to keep it going years after his passing.

Charles is survived by his son, Eric (Jackie) Thilman; two grandsons, Travis and Damian Thilman; two sisters, Patty Thilman and Sharon Johnston; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the local VFW or the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
