Velma Conner

Velma Pauline Conner, 91, formerly Broseley, Missouri passed away Nov. 1, 2024, at her residence in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.

She was born June 3, 1933, in Broseley to the late Clyde Moore and Cynthia “Marlette” Moore.

She was a member of the Corner Stone United Pentecostal Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri where she had taught Sunday School and had served as youth leader. She enjoyed reading, going to church, collecting rocks, looking at birds and cooking.

On May 3, 1952, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri she was married to Martin McKinley Conner. He survives.

Also surviving her daughter, Cynthia Joanne Bryant and husband, David, of Mammoth Spring; one daughter- in-law, Sandy Conner of Jonesboro, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jennifer Bryant and husband, Simon Coleman, Hannah Runyun and Brock, Matt Conner, Wesley Conner, Robby Bryan; great-grandchildren, Ravon Hughes and husband, Noah, Vanessa Coleman, Nicholas Bryant and Addy Wilson. She is also survived by two sisters, Lillie Campbell and Nettie Conner, both of Broseley, and one brother, Bob Moore of Broseley.

She is preceded by her parents, Clyde and Cynthia Moore; one son, James Martin Conner; as well as two brothers Milburn Moore and Earl Moore.

Visitation for Mrs. Conner will start at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, in the Corner Stone UPCI Church in Poplar Bluff with the funeral following at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, with Brother Bryan Parkey and Brother Jarred Davis officiating.
