Raymond Bates

Raymond Leslie Bates, 81, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Oct. 9, 2024, in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 29, 1943, in Ripley County, Missouri to the late Leonard Bates and Gertha “Perren” Bates.

He served in the United States Army and had been in Germany and Vietnam and worked for Chrome Plated as a tank liner. He enjoyed working in his shop and mowing grass.

Raymond is survived by one sister, Wanda Boone of St. Louis, Missouri and one brother David Bates of Poplar Bluff, as well as nieces and nephews, Vickie Walters and Bryan and Eric Boone. and several great-nieces and nephews also survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents as well as one niece Pam.

There will be a memorial visitation starting at 11 a.m. Oct. 19, 2024, with a memorial service following at noon all in the Fowler and Sons Funeral Home in Neelvyille, Missouri.
