A school resource officer responded to a call Thursday, Oct. 10, for service from the school faculty. It was determined that a juvenile had made inappropriate violent remarks, of such a nature that they constituted a terroristic threat, toward the school. The remarks were not deemed to be a credible threat. This matter was referred to the Butler County Juvenile Office, as well as school faculty for disciplinary action.

Officers responded Thursday, Oct. 10, to a business in the 200 block of Highway 53, in reference to stealing. It was determined that a subject had assaulted an employee of the business and taken property from the premises, before leaving. This investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded Thursday, Oct. 10, to a business in the 1300 block of North Westwood Boulevard in reference to wellbeing check. It was determined that an individual was having a mental health crisis, and was determined to be a danger to themselves or others. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the PBRMC for treatment.

Officers responded Thursday, Oct. 10, to a business in the 300 block of South Westwood Boulevard in reference to stealing. It was determined that a subject had shoplifted from the business. The subject was apprehended, and identified. Charges are being sought through the Poplar Bluff Municipal Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded Thursday, Oct. 10, to a residence in the 2500 block of East Avondale Street in reference to assault. It was determined that a domestic assault had occurred. Jonathon Davidson, 44, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested for third degree domestic assault. Charges are being sought through the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

It was determined that a domestic assault had occurred, but that one party had fled the scene, and that the other party did not want to pursue charges. This case is closed.

It was determined that two subjects had been playing a game, and that one party had become irate, and had threatened to harm the other party, and then left the scene. The suspect was identified, and charges are being sought through the Poplar Bluff Municipal Prosecutor’s Office.

It was determined that a subject was suspected of theft, or attempted theft, but had fled the scene. The subject was located, identified and formally trespassed from the property. This case is closed.
