Officers conducted a security check Sunday, Sept. 8, at a business located in the 400 block of Hazel Street and discovered two individuals loitering on the property. One individual, Brenda Burks, 40, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant.

While investigating an unrelated matter, officers made contact with an individual Sunday, Sept. 8, in the 500 block of Oak Street, and this led to the discovery of suspected controlled substances and suspected drug paraphernalia. Two suspects were identified and charges are being sought through the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded Sunday, Sept. 8, to the 800 block of Highway 53 in an attempt to locate a missing person and serve an arrest warrant. The missing individual was located, and Michael Spencer, 34, of Poplar Bluff was arrested on an active arrest warrant.

Officers responded Sunday, Sept. 8, to the 1400 block of Tremont Street in reference to a domestic situation. An investigation concluded that neither party was willing to pursue charges for any matters. Tyler Cannon, 33, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant.

Officers responded to the 400 block of West Midland Street in reference to a wellness check. While there, officers witnessed a domestic dispute play out, and addressed the situation, with all parties separating without further incident.

Officers were flagged down at Whiteley Park Sunday, Sept. 8, and a wallet was turned over to them. The wallet was placed in storage at the Poplar Bluff Police Department for safekeeping.

It was determined that an assault had occurred during a social gathering that occurred close by. A suspect was identified and charges are being sought through the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded Sunday, Sept. 8, to the intersection of Maud Street and North Westwood Boulevard in reference to a fight in progress. The subjects were located nearby, and neither party wished to pursue charges and separated without further incident.

Officers located a wanted individual Sunday, Sept. 8, while patrolling near C Street and Almond Street and attempted to serve an arrest warrant.The subject resisted by fleeing, but was taken into custody. Eldon Osborn, 36, of Poplar Bluff was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant and for resisting arrest. Charges are being sought through the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded Sunday, Sept. 8, to the 1900 block of Woodland Street in reference to an intoxicated person causing a disturbance. It was determined that a domestic assault had occurred. Brenda Hastings, 66, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested for fourth degree domestic assault. Charges are being sought through the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.
