The Junior High Assistant Principle contacted the SRO Friday, Aug. 30, about an assault. It was determined that a juvenile assaulted another juvenile on the school bus. All guardians were contacted. The case is being forwarded to the Butler County Juvenile Office.

Officers responded Friday, Aug. 30, to the 200 block of Phillip Kearbey Blvd., in reference to theft and fraudulent use of a debit/credit device. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded Friday, Aug. 30, to the 2300 block of Cheshire Road in reference to littering. It was determined that someone had removed trash from containers in the area and scattered it. The investigation is ongoing.

On 08/30, officers responded to the 300 block of S. Westwood Blvd. in reference to one party leaving the scene of a traffic accident. A suspect was identified, and an accident report was completed.

Officers responded Friday, Aug. 30, to the 2000 block of Sanders Avenue in reference to a burglary. It was determined that a burglary did occur. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded Friday, Aug. 30, to the 2200 block of Ruth Drive in reference to an assault. It was determined that an altercation occurred between two parties, and neither party wanted to pursuing charges.

Officers responded Friday, Aug. 30, to the 1900 block of Alice Street, in reference to a security check. It was determined that a burglary had occurred. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded Friday, Aug. 30, to the 300 block of S. Westwood Boulevard, in reference to theft. The reporting party decided against pursuing charges, but Elsie Rodgers of Poplar Bluff was arrested for outstanding arrest warrants.

Officers conducted a traffic stop Friday, Aug. 30, near the intersection of Business 67 and Hudson Street. During the course of the stop, it was determined that the operator was responsible for providing marijuana to two juveniles, who were passengers in the vehicle. This matter was forwarded to the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded Friday, Aug. 30, to the 700 block of N. Westwood Boulevard, in reference to lost or stolen property. During the course of the investigation, the reporting party became uncooperative and left. It remains undetermined if a crime occurred or not.

Officers responded Saturday, Aug. 31, to the 1900 block of S. Broadway Street in reference to someone flourishing a weapon in public. It was determined that two suspects were trespassing inside of a vacant residence, and that an assault had taken place. A suspect was identified and charges are being pursued through the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded Saturday, Aug. 31 to the 200 block of W. Midland Street, in reference to trespassing. During the investigation, it was discovered that the residence was on fire, and the fire department responded. This matter was forwarded to the Fire Marshals for further investigation.

Officers responded Saturday, Aug. 31 to the 500 block of Hazel Street, in reference to a well-being check. Officers contacted an individual there, and EMS was called to assess. The subject was turned over to EMS and was transported to the PBRMC.

Officers responded Saturday, Aug. 31 to Poplar Bluff Police Department, in reference to an assault. It was determined that two individuals had met at the Police Station to exchange custody of their mutual child, and an assault had occurred during this exchange. William Blackburn, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested and charges are being sought through the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded Saturday, Aug. 31, to the PBRMC in reference to kidnapping. It was determined that an individual was found wandering the streets and claimed to have been abducted. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded Saturday, Aug. 31 to the 800 block of Mary Street to serve an arrest warrant. Shelly Hampton of Poplar Bluff was arrested due to outstanding arrest warrants.

Officers responded Saturday, Aug. 31, to the 700 block of Ethel Street to assist another agency with an investigation. During the course of this investigation, it determined that a subject residing there was in possession of several firearms, while also being a convicted felon. Kevin Brown of Poplar Bluff was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm, and charges are being sought through the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded Saturday, Aug. 31 to the 900 block of S. Westwood Boulevard, in reference to a stolen vehicle. It was determined that two subjects requested to test drive a vehicle, and then stole it. Two suspects have been identified, and charges are being sought through the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded Saturday, Aug. 31, to the 1300 block of N. Westwood Boulevard, in reference to theft. It was determined that two subjects stole merchandise from a business there, and left the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

A juvenile came to the Poplar Bluff Police Station Saturday, Aug. 31, to file a report for assault. Officers conducted an investigation, and at this time, the investigation has been closed as it was determined that the criteria for an assault wasn’t met. This matter has been forwarded to the Butler County Juvenile Office.

Officers responded Saturday, Aug. 31, to a business in the 1800 block of N. Westwood Boulevard in reference to an unwanted guest. It was determined that a customer had become upset while in the store, and the staff had decided to trespass the individual. Contact was made with the individual, who was advised that they were formally trespassed from the property.

Officers responded Saturday, Aug. 31, to the 800 block of W. Maud Street, in reference to a 911 hang-up call. It was determined that a domestic dispute had occurred, but no one presented with injuries or wished to pursue charges.
