Elizabeth Hanley McDonald

Elizabeth Darlene Truelove Hanley McDonald went to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024, at Memory Lane of Dexter, Missouri.

Elizabeth was the daughter of Luther Carlton and Maudie Nora Credille. She was born July 27, 1935 at Hornersville, Missouri.

Carl Kenneth Truelove and Elizabeth were married Nov. 1949 in Piggott, Arkansas. They farmed south of Poplar Bluff where they raised their family. Carl died in 2000. She then married Howard Hanley and he died in 2008. Elizabeth then married Bob McDonald in 2009. Bob died in 2022.

Elizabeth was an active member of South Side General Baptist Church for many years where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Later in life she attended New Home General Baptist Church. She loved singing in the Poplar Bluff Senior Choir and volunteering at the Lucy Lee Hospital.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Dennis) Bess of Bloomfield, Missouri; son, Charles (Phyllis) Truelove of Columbia, Missouri; her stepson, Dennis (Linda) Hanley of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one brother, Micky Credille of Broseley, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Pat Danner of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Justin (Julia) Dunkmann, Jennifer (Cody) Lawson, Debbie Knight, David (Becky) Bess, Lauren Truelove, Shelly Truelove, and Meredith Truelove; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jeremiah, Josh, Jayna, Christian, Madelyn, and Hudson.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Dunkmann; son-in-law, Richard Dunkmann; three brothers, Fred Credille, Q.C. Credille, and Jim Credille.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at White-Sanders Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Keith Luke officiating. Burial will be in Brown Chapel Cemetery at Broseley, Missouri.
