Harrel Rice

Harrel Marlin Rice, 86, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2024 at his residence, in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Rice was born Friday, Aug. 5, 1938 in Portageville, Missouri. He was a farmer, carpenter and pastor. He pastored Lone Oak General Baptist Church at Broseley for 35 years.

On Feb. 20, 1960, he married Ollie G. DeCourley. She survives.

Also surviving is one son, Harrel Ray Rice; one daughter, Carolyn Harden, both of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Linda Guthrie of Campbell; and one grandchild: Carrie Palm of Raeford, North Carolina.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jared Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Shain Memorial cemetery.
