Milburn Ponder

Milburn Lee Ponder, 62, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Aug. 6, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Lee was born Feb. 28, 1962, to Milburn and Judith (Morey) Ponder in Doniphan, Missouri. He married Shannon Ramos April 2, 2011, in Poplar Bluff.

Lee worked at Gates Rubber in Poplar Bluff for 41 years; during his time there he gained much respect from his co-workers, who referred to him as the “hardest worker” they knew. Lee enjoyed antiquing, collecting glass bottles and coins over the years. Lee had an appreciation for classic cars and a good afternoon nap followed by a coffee. He also took interest in genealogy and enjoyed researching his family tree. Lee also liked to spend his spare time outdoors. He will be missed by many!

Lee is survived by his wife, Shannon Ponder; four sons, Ryan (Holly) Ponder, Stephen (Cheyenne) Ponder, Matthew Ramos, and Eric (Alyssa) Ramos; two daughters, Jordan Ramos and Alexa Ramos; one sister, Janice (Dennis) Cooper; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; son in infancy, Andrew Ponder.

Visitation will be held from noon -1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bonnie Goins officiating. Burial will take place at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
