Housing Authority annual block party promises food, drinks, activities

The fourth annual Poplar Bluff Housing Authority’s annual block party National Night Out will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at 302 N. E St.

“Join us for a fun evening of food, drinks, music, games, activities and prizes,” said Tammy Harper, housing authority office manager.

The public is welcome to attend the free event, where there will be informational and educational booths, a petting zoo and water activities. Face painting and a selfie station will be available, Harper said.

Sponsors are 1st Midwest Bank, East Side Pharmacy, Borrowed Time Real Estate and John’s Pharmacy.

“Bring lawn chairs and towels for water activities,” Harper said.

More than 20 community partners are scheduled to attend such as SCMCAA, Boys and Girls Club and MU Extension 4H Club, just to name a few, Harper said.

Plus, “several local heroes who serve in our community are scheduled to attend,” Harper said.

Lots of activities are planned and door prizes will be awarded. Music and food will be available for those attending.
