Colleen Thurman

Colleen Elizabeth Thurman, 94, of Fisk, Missouri, died Saturday, July 27, 2024 at her residence in Fisk.

Mrs. Thurman was born June 15, 1930, daughter of the late Grover Hugh and Myrtle Farrar (née Bell).

On Jan. 8, 1947, she married Robert Thurman, Sr. He preceded her in death Jan. 8, 1988.

Colleen’s greatest joy in life was her family. She especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished each moment she was able to spend with them. She was very involved in their lives and until she was no longer physically able, they could always expect to see (and hear) her in the crowd at all of their school and extracurricular events.

She is survived by four children, Robert (Vera) Thurman Jr., Dennis (Ruthie) Thurman, Joyce (Ted) Cunningham, and Harold (Kathy) Thurman, all of Fisk; nine grandchildren, Michael, Lori, and Craig Thurman, Robert (Kristi) Thurman III, Andee (Tommy) Bonifield, Erin Shaw, Matthew (Ashley) Thurman, Jenny (Shaun) Hester, and Amy (Roy) Sellers; and 13 great-grandchildren, Levi, Trevor, Isaac, Emma, Eli, Julia, Evan, Megan, Emilia, Ellie, Luke, Beckett, and Blake.

In addition to her parents and husband, Colleen was also preceded in death by her five siblings, Lois Lawrence, Otis and Clifford Moore, Eugene and Hughy Farrar.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Steve Coulson officiating. Burial will be at Shain Memorial Cemetery in Fisk.
