Officers responded Wednesday, July 17, to the 1400 block of North Fifth Street to a report of a person making suicidal statements. The subject was contacted and transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center emergency room for treatment.

Officers responded Wednesday, July 17, to the 400 block of Henry Street to a report of a domestic assault. Contact was made with the victim and the suspect. The suspect Adam Brasher was placed under arrest for third degree domestic assault and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers made contact Wednesday, July 17, with a First Midwest Bank employee concerning a report of a suspect passing bad checks. The suspect opened a new account and wrote several checks with no funds in the account. This has been referred to the Butler County prosecutor’s office.

Officers responded to the 800 block of Franklin Street to a report of a domestic assault. The victim stated he was choked by his girlfriend Ventia Samel and she fled the scene before officers arrived. Charges were sent to the Butler County prosecutor’s office.
