Christine Bufford

Christine R. Bufford, 91, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Oakdale Care Center, in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Bufford was born Oct. 22, 1932 in Parma, Missouri, daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Roxie Ann Bagby (née McBroom). She was formerly a member of Black River General Baptist Church in Broseley.

On Sept. 22, 1947 married Donald Homer Bufford. He preceded her in death April 27, 2009.

Christine is survived by two children: Donna (Frank) Johnston of Elgin, Oklahoma and Carolyn (Brian) Cook of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren: Don Jeff (Bianca) Slaughter of Poplar Bluff, Chris (Rhonda) Slaughter of Dexter, Missouri, Dina Slaughter of Elgin, Oklahoma, Carla (Tim) Moncier of Poplar Bluff, and Andrea (Ronnie II) Cline of Williamsville, Missouri; and many great and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Christine was also preceded in death by her infant son: Stanley Bufford; and all of her siblings.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2024 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Callum Reavey officiating. Burial will be at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, Missouri.
