The Pride in Your Ride Car Show to benefit Wounded Warriors will be from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Eagles building, 1400 S. Broadway.
The annual community fundraising event is sponsored by the Bluff City Eagles Post 3730 Junior Order of Eagles.
JOE sponsor Christina VanLear said the youth ranging in age from 8-20 and all agreed the money should go to the Wounded Warriors.
“Not a single one disagreed,” VanLear said. “They are near and dear to all of our hearts. Everyone has a family member who has served and some who have lost their lives. We are trying to raise every penny we can.”
All wheels are welcome and the entry fee is $15 per vehicle. Participants can sign up as soon as they pull onto the lot, VanLear said. Side-by-sides are also welcome.
Awards will be Peoples Choice and Kids Choice.
There will be 50/50 drawings, a dunk tank for kids, music, raffles and the JOE members will sell hot dogs with a bag of chips and a drink for $5.
A table will be setup for youngsters to learn more about the JOE program. The Junior Order of Eagles was organized to help Poplar Bluff area youth between the ages of 8 and 20 learn Eagles traditions, as well as gain a sense of purpose. The program is designed to help the members learn teamwork, organization and philanthropy to help themselves and others in the community.
Junior Eagles have raised money for St. Jude and Care to Learn, as well as donating backpacks with bedrolls to FCC. They have also held a spaghetti feed, a bake sale and two clothing drives, which helped close to 200 families.
“All the money this amazing group of youth raises goes right back into our community, which needs some serious love,” VanLear said.
