Officers were dispatched Friday, July 5, to the 1200 block of Fairmount in reference to property damage. The victim stated five males attempted to put fireworks in the gas tank of their vehicle. While on scene ,five males were located walking toward the residence. Once they observed the officers, they allegedly began running. One of the males, identified as Detrayous Wallace, 21, Poplar Bluff, was taken into custody a short time later. Wallace refused to identify himself to officers upon being in custody. Wallace was processed and lodged in the Butler County jail. Located in Wallace’s property were the same fireworks used at the scene.

Joseph Jones, 62, Poplar Bluff was taken into custody Friday, July 5, on two active warrants through Butler County and three through the city of Poplar Bluff. Jones was processed and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers made contact with a victim Friday, July 5, at the front desk of the station in reference to stealing. The victim stated their grandchild transferred money from their account to a cashapp account. The report was forwarded to the Butler County juvenile office for review.

Officers were dispatched Friday, July 5, to the 700 block of Foley Street in reference to a drug overdose. Contact was made with the subject in the bathroom of the residence. The subject refused medical attention on scene.

Michael Dibar, 36, Poplar Bluff was taken into custody Friday, July 5, for an active warrant through Butler County. After being taken into custody, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were allegedly located on Dibari’s person. He was processed and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Seth Reynolds, 39, Poplar Bluff was taken into custody Friday, July 5, for shoplifting at Save-a-Lot Food Store. After being taken into custody, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were located on Reynold’s person. He was processed and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers were dispatched Friday, July 5, to the 200 block of North C Street in reference to a dispute between neighbors. The reporting party stated neighbors attempted to lure her son into a fight. No charges were pursued and a trespass notice was issued.

Officers were dispatched Friday, July 5, to the 1600 block of Wilson Street in reference to a wellness check. Contact was made with a juvenile at the residence. The juvenile advised their mother is verbally abusive to the children. A report was filed with the Child Abuse Hotline.

Officers were dispatched Friday, July 5, to the 800 block of Franklin in reference to trespassing and stealing. The victim stated the suspect came onto the property and stole a dog. Attempts were made to contact the suspect but were unsuccessful. A probable cause affidavit was sent to the prosecuting attorney’s office.

Contact was made with a subject Friday, July 5, at the front desk in reference to fraud. The subject stated their computer locked up and they were directed to contact Microsoft on a website. The subjects then had the victim withdraw money and deposit it in Bitcoin machines. The investigation is ongoing.
