Wilma Piroli
Wilma Faye Piroli, 92, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024, at her home.
Wilma was born May 6, 1932, to Lloyd and Mable (Haynes) Mayes in Harviell, Missouri. She married Dante Piroli Oct. 13, 1951, in California.
Wilma was of the Catholic faith. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Poplar Bluff. Wilma loved tending to her flower garden and sitting on the back porch with a cup of coffee overlooking the farm. Wilma was known as the infamous “white fence washing lady”; she took pride in hand washing the fence surrounding the Piroli property, making sure it was spotless and up to her standards! Every Sunday Wilma cooked breakfast for her family and close friends. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her great-grandkids.
Wilma is survived by her two children, Debera (David) Moyer and Ray (Kristin Clark) Piroli; four grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Piroli, Wendy Piroli, David Moyer, and Derrick Moyer; along with numerous great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dante Piroli; three sisters, MaryAnn Bunting, Aliene Willcut, and Oliene Bates; six brothers in infancy.
Visitation will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at 5:30 p.m. with Chaplain Gary Walmer officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Cochran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
