Marvin was employed by Small Arms Factory, St. Louis, Missouri, before moving back to farm his family farm in Qulin. He raised row crops of beans, cotton, wheat, and rice and raised hogs and cattle. On June 7, 1957, Marvin was united in marriage to Frances Kay Anders at Mount Gilead Church, Clarkton, Missouri. They made their home in Qulin and became parents of two daughters, Jayne and Lesa. Marvin was an avid farmer and gardener. He loved to watch the miracle of plant life, from preparing the earth to harvesting. Marvin was well-known for his plump, juicy tomatoes. Although Marvin often said little, his wisdom regarding farming and gardening was phenomenal. He worked hard to provide for his family.
Marvin first and foremost loved the Lord. His beloved wife Kay was the love of his life. Marvin loved his daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also loved his church.
