Shelba Turner-Johnson
Shelba Turner-Johnson, 83, was born in Naylor, Missouri April 13, 1940, to Daniel and Birdie Wertenberger. She departed for heaven April 10, 2024, at Oak Dale Care Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri where she had resided since she was severely injured in a car accident in 2017.
Shelba loved flowers, birds, and all animals. Her favorite past time was watching old westerns. She loved to quilt. She loved all her family and doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves behind her children Janet (Terry) Arnold of Fairdealing Missouri, Susan (Rick) Wilkerson of Harviell, Missouri and her son Kenneth Turner of Naylor.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Chad (Sirena) Jones, Kayla (Travis) Thomas, Autumn Kiefer, Cassie (Cory) Strohmeyer, Sean (Jamie) Turner, Tanner Turner, Tyler (Bonetta) Turner, Todd Wilkerson, Kadie (Joe) Jones, Nathan (Kristi) Wilkerson. Also surviving are her sister-in-law Marie Wertenberger and her special niece, Norma Wertenberger, alone with many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, preceding her in death was her husband, Donald R. Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kathy Turner; and grandsons, Joshua Turner, Brandon Callow and Matthew Wilkerson. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers Earl, William and Frank Wertenberger and her sister, Shirley, as well as her best friends, Mary Arnold, and Maxine (King) Joy.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Fairdealing Cemetery. Fowler and Sons Funeral Home of Neelyville in charge of the services.
