Collier, 45, holds government transparency as her foremost goal if elected as Neelyville alderman.
“If you want something to change, you have to be a part of the change,” she asserted.
Collier stated her honesty and trustworthiness set her apart as a candidate. She described herself as someone who will find the right answer on her own instead of simply taking someone’s word for it, especially regarding city laws. Collier hopes to foment better trust between the residents of Neelyville and those inside its government.
Next, she promised to focus on improving the local community.
“A thriving community makes a small town,” Collier emphasized.
She stated she chooses to live in Neelyville after 27 years because she loves the town and the people. Collier sees the largest challenge facing the community as the lack of trust for its government. She stated it seems the city government mistrusts its residents as well.
“We need new faces,” Collier maintained, “people who will be open and honest with the community and treat each person or problem with utmost respect.”
She also aspires to organize community cleanup efforts and invest in the city park. Collier also hopes to establish events such as festivals or yard sales that will attract people to Neelyville.
She reiterated her desire for better transparency and stated her appreciation for those willing to give her their vote in the upcoming election.
LeCroy did not respond to requests for an interview.
