Officers made a traffic stop Monday, March 4, on 10th Street in reference to no state registration. The driver, John Catt, was issued citations for driving without a driver’s license, no state registration and financial responsibility required. Catt’s vehicle was towed by Barker’s Towing. Catt was released at the scene.

Officers responded Monday, March 4, to 2500 Sunset Terrace about an assault. Staff workers advised a client became upset and assaulted another client. The client sustained a cut on his head and was treated by EMS. Charges were referred to the Butler County prosecutor’s office.

Officers responded Monday, March 4, to 3200 block of Vaughn Road about vandalism. An officer found a bullet hole on the exterior of the house and, upon looking in the interior of the house, found a spent bullet lodged in the wall. The resident did not remember hearing a gunshot but did hear noise in the living in the earlier morning hours.

The police department received two messages Monday, March 4, from the National Instant Background Check System about two different individuals who were felons attempting to buy handguns. The investigation revealed both individuals were not felons and could possess firearms.

Kaylee Amlong, 23, of Poplar Bluff was arrested Monday, March 4, in the 900 block of Cedar Street for an outstanding warrant (bond $500 cash). Amlong was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Butler County EMS reported Monday, March 4, they were involved in a leaving the scene of an accident while they were on a call in the 1100 block of Hickory Street. The suspect vehicle and driver were located and there were no charges filed. The suspect driver was pulling a trailer and unaware he had struck the ambulance while it was parked.

Debra Stanley, 64, of Corning, Arkansas, was arrested Monday, March 4, at the police station on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant. Stanley was booked and released with a new court date.

Officers responded Monday, March 4, to Walmart Supercenter about a leaving the scene of an accident report. Contact was made with Barbara Siliven, who had her vehicle struck before the suspect vehicle fled the scene. Investigation continues.

Officers responded Monday, March 4, along with the Poplar Bluff Fire Department, to the 600 block of Park Street for a structure fire. The house was abandoned and the fire department was able to put the fire out.

Officers responded Monday, March 4, to 1400 block of Broadway for a vehicle crash. The driver was found unresponsive and was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center emergency room for treatment. The vehicle was towed by Xtreme Recovery.
