Downtown offers events this weekend for music and wrestling fans.

The Moon Pie Band takes the stage from 7-10 p.m. Saturday at Rodgers Theatre. The Opry at the Rodgers event is rounded out with special guests Buddy Heaton, Tyler Williams, Shayne Talburt and Braidy and Bobby Lewis.

The Black River Coliseum will also host Extreme Dwarfanators Wrestling at 7 p.m. Saturday. From Center Stage Entertainment, the show offers real-life superheroes performing aerial assaults that defy gravity, according to organizers. Shows also feature special grudge matches with a chance to boo the villains and cheer the heroes. The shows are a celebration of Lucha Libre culture in a family-friendly environment, they say.

Other upcoming events include:

— Winterfest, 4-9 p.m. Jan. 15-19 WHERE Black River Coliseum COST Free WHAT Sponsored by Missouri Highlands, there will be an ice skating rink (skates provided), community resource tables, crafts, winter activities, vouchers for a free popcorn and hot chocolate per visitor.

There can only be 80 people on the ice at a time, so pre-registration is encouraged to get a ticket and time. Those not skating do not need tickets. Free tickets are available at Eventbrite.com.

— Inspiring workplace culture lunch and learn, Noon Jan. 19 WHERE Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce WHAT Explore the keys to creating an awesome work environment that promotes productivity, collaboration and employee satisfaction. Hosted by the Parents Working Committee.

— Open studio, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 20 WHERE Canvas & Grain Studio COST Varies WHAT Variety of items available to paint.

Bruenger’s art is a combination of painting, collage, found objects and metal work focused on nature, abstraction and the beauty of the female image. Her exhibit runs through Feb. 25.
