An employee at Heartland Tool Works at 510 Ashcroft Road reported at 7:21 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, that someone broke into their garage and stole a utility vehicle. The stolen UTV was later recovered at a residence on M Highway.

A green 2004 Jeep Liberty was towed from a traffic stop at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, after it was determined the vehicle was not registered or insured. Driver Bobbi Shonka, 35, of Poplar Bluff was issued a traffic citation and released at the scene.

An employee at the Internet Cafe at 30 Highway 142 reported at 12:09 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, a patron stole cash from one of their gaming machines.

Barbara Carl reported at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, someone broke out a window on her car while it was parked in the 200 block of North D Street. A bag of candy and a deposit bag with receipts were stolen from the vehicle.

Aron Atkisson, 23, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 5:49 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, at a residence in the 2200 block of M Highway. Atkisson was booked on a charge of possession of methamphetamine and eight separate Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for failure to appear on traffic offenses. He was held at the Butler County jail.
