Bonnie Petty
Bonnie Sue Petty, 73, of Neelyville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, at her home.
Mrs. Petty was born May 7, 1950, in Coon Island, Missouri. She had worked as a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, flowers, gardening, canning, singing, walking, and riding her bike. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bonnie attended Coon Island Pentecostal Church where she had served as secretary and treasurer for 44 years. She also taught Sunday school and served as youth leader.
On July 23, 1966, she married Harley Petty in Coon Island. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Amy Redden and husband, Maurice, of Campbell, Missouri, Summer Layton and husband, Mark, of Naylor, Missouri, Misty Gilmore and husband, Jeff, of Neelyville, Paul Petty and wife, Christy, of Coon Island; three sisters, Dorothy Mullins of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Wanda Wagner of Fairdealing, Missouri, Darlene Chitwood of Doniphan, Missouri; one brother, Tim Cassinger of Coon Island, as well as 13 grandchildren, and six great- grandchildren.
Bonnie is preceded in death by daughter, Alisa Petty; parents, Hurbert, and Opal Cassinger; sister, Ethel Smoot; and Anna Mae Holland, as well as one brother, Gene Cassinger.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. – noon Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, at the Coon Island Pentecostal Church. The home going service will immediately follow at noon at the church with Pastor Bobby Quin officiating. Burial will be held at the Coon Island Cemetery.
